Gearbox Software's Randy Varnell has stated during a Twitch livestream that Battleborn's launch has been "pretty good" and that it is "actually tracking just ahead of where Borderlands was on the sales".
The studio is cautiously optimistic that the title will follow a similar trend to the original Borderlands, where a relatively slow launch is countered out by steady growth in the coming months thanks to positive word of mouth. "We’re seeing growth every day at a steady rate after a big burst of people at launch", he claimed. "Hopefully we’ll continue to see that go up".
Battleborn launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC last week.
