Davy Jones is a cursed captain of the Flying Dutchman and a main antagonist from the Pirates of the Caribbean films Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. Originally a normal man, Jones fell in love with the goddess Calypso and was tasked with ferrying the souls of those lost at sea. Betrayed by Calypso, Jones cut out his heart and place it in Dead Man's Chest before gathering the Pirate Brethren and imprisoning Calypso away in human bonds. Cursed for abandoning his job as the ferryman, Jones and his crew were turned into sea monsters and ruled the seas with the Kraken at his side.
