All three console games were 3D platformers, the last two games being open world as well. Franchise staples include a large selection of different boomerangs, giant robot suits, over-the-top Australian accents, and vehicles. The franchise is jam packed with Australian culture and folk lore. The final two games recieved GBA ports and they were 2D platformers. The creator of the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger franchise is Steve Stamatiadis, also known for his web-comic series, Blade Kitten.
