Mass Effect is a series of sci-fi action role-playing video games, developed by the Canadian company BioWare and released for the Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, the PlayStation 3 starting with the second installment, and the Wii U starting with the third.

Metroid is a series of action games created by Yoshio Sakamoto and Gunpei Yokoi. All of the games in the series are published by Nintendo. The franchise follows the adventures of bounty hunter Samus. It is famous for having one of the first female protagonists in a video game. 

EarthBound is a series of turn-based role-playing games created by Shigesato Itoi for Nintendo. In Japan, the series is known as Mother and began with the release of the Japan-only Famicom game called Mother.
