A chestplate are an armor used to protect your chest, like other armors it’s made from a crafting table and its defense is determined by what material you use to make it. To create it you need to fill all 9 spots except the center top with diamonds, iron ingots, leather, gold ingots or fire (only possible through mods) to make your chestplate.
