Play the Gridiron Events. Before even diving into Season or Versus mode, go straight to gridiron. If you play a Season game, even after one matchup you’ll already have your overall team level up to 2, and you want to get into your first Gridiron when you’re already at Season 1.
Since your team is weak to start, the matchups generated will be against other weak teams. After only three or four games, you’ll have leveled up your players and also earned many additional gold card packs through the Gridiron bonsuses. Additionally, there are easily obtainable level 3 bonus cards in each Gridiron that will immediately help your team.
Make sure to send friend requests to your Gridiron opponents and begin to send gifts to anyone that accepts.
Also, be sure to accept any friend requests. By playing Gridiron, you’ve given yourself a greater chance to appear as an opponent for others, and chances are at least a couple will try and friend you. These are simply more opportunities to receive gold.
After you’ve completed your first Gridiron event, then play a few Season games, but not too many. Here, you’ll continue to level up your player cards, but you’ll also hit some easily obtainable goals that will earn you bonuses and even more player cards along the way.
When the next Gridiron event starts on Wednesday, you should be poised to make a good run deep enough to earn three or four bonus cards that will help your team, in addition to all the gold card packs along the way.
By the end of your second Gridiron event, you should also have earned your level 4 James Harrison bonus card for playing for 7 days.
At this point, your team will likely have at least half the players as level 4 cards (earned through Gold and Silver card packs) and the other half as high level 3 cards. You may even have better cards then that.
When you are then ready to level up your team some more, make sure to continue to play versus mode, especially when you need to increase your card values. Although you will win many matchups, we actually were happy to lose in versus mode because it meant we could level up our player cards withough raising our overall team value, which is helpful for Gridiron Matchups.
