Make sure you have around 30 to 40 arrows. Run towards, shoot three or four times, then run away. Repeat and you should kill the creature in a short time.

I agrre with Jarod's comment, which means that, you need to ensure that you have a food supply of arros (20 - 30) and plenty of food.

"I do the run towards it, shoot arrows a couple of times, run away, eat food to replenish health, then run back and do the same thing. I think it's nearly impossible to kill the giant crab and other giant creatures at one setting."
