Unfortunately enough, this game will always be compared with UNCHARTED

I have never ever played any tomb raider game ever.... this is my first one... and i'm glad this is my first.... However, the character Square Enix created has caused a bit of a dilemma amongst themselves - for example this Lara Croft doesn't WANT to kill people... so we can't really use turrets and eliminate sea of enemies.... she uses a bow and an arrow, which eliminates the use of snipers (these factors very slightly tarnishes the gameplay a bit)

also the fact that they r stuck in an island causes the game's most major problem of all... and that is they can't change locations, so no matter how greater the graphics, at the end of the day u r pretty much playing in the same scenery over and over again...she can't ride horses/cars or have a moving sequence in vehicle/train/plane...although there might be a boat sequence but i haven't got to it yet...

storytelling is awesome with just a tiny bit of an itch - to sum it up, she gets caught a million times and escapes every time... they just doesn't kill her after they catch her, yet fires weapons and sends millions of enemies to die in her hands...and when they actually do catch her, they decide to either tie her up or throw her down the pits... with an escape route ready...

but i'm not really criticizing the game... it's fantastic and breath taking... every moment of the game is very well thought of and the dialogues are fresh... and background sound is probably THE BEST YET... the very tinsy winsy bit of a problem i have is that as an UNCHARTED fan, every stunning moment in tomb raider feels like 'been there done that' (except the bow and arrow bit)... it actually feels like uncharted in disguise...only very veryyy slightly less exciting...

i still haven't finished the game... only played 60% of it... and it's very likely that within the next 40%, i'll find a boat sequence (which still, isn't new... it's done in guess what...)

which is why TOMB RAIDER will be SECOND BEST to UNCHARTED... not BETTER THAN UNCHARTED! still, deserves to be the first entry as game of the year as there will be no uncharted this year!!!
