For those that don't know this game; Ratchet and Clank is an action 3rd person shooter type game that sees you controlling a cat like creature (Lombax) named Ratchet, a very handy mechanic and his robot companion, Clank. The game is set in a universe where technology is absolutely CRAZY. Ratchet and Clank Future takes this to a whole new level in terms of weapons. In previous games, the weapons ranged from a simple laser pistol that evolves into a full fledged laser cannon, to an enormous hand held missile launcher, known as the R.Y.N.O, that literally spits hell at enemies. This game is way better; weapons now range from Dynamo Cannons, to Incendiary Pistols, to the signature hell spitting missile launcher (R.Y.N.O).
Enough of the weapons, let's get to game play. In A Crack in Time, Ratchet is separated from Clank after creatures known as Zoni kidnap the robot companion. Ratchet must find a way to get his long time friend back. However, Ratchet is torn between choices when he meets the only other Lombax in the Omniverse. It is then discovered that this Lombax (Alister Azimuth) was very close friends with Ratchets father and was the cause of the Lombax's disappearing. Later on, you discover that Clank was taken to 'The Great Clock' where Dr. Nefarious (games antagonist) is attempting to access the power of The Great Clock and use it as a time machine (his goal is to go back in time and get a second shot at killing Ratchet, back in Up your Arsenal). The Clock is described to only fix time when catastrophic cosmic events occur. Like the previous games, you must fight your way through multiple levels that are riddled with enemies. An array of weapons that are completely absurd and crazy (they also level up to become machines of death) will help you along the way. And with the games Challenge Mode, you can go back to the beginning of the game with all of your weapons, armor, bolts (game currency), and experience and re beat the game at a harder level. In the first play through, you get guns and bolts. In the one's after that, you get mega guns and more bolts for bigger guns. Guaranteed to keep you busy and trying to get every upgrade for hours on end.
Visually, the game is beautiful. Vibrant environments and detailed characters really bring out the power of the Playstation 3.
Voice acting is also very well done in this game. Ratchets voice actor (James Arnold Taylor) really does an amazing job at mimicking his personality. Clanks voice actor also does a great job at Clanks seriousness and lack of contractions (he really does an excellent job)
Oh, one more thing: you may have noticed that the signature weapon (R.Y.N.O) has got those periods in their. That's because its short for its real name. The R.Y.N.O is a huge missile launcher and is the most expensive item in the games (you must find pieces and build it in a crack in time). In the first three games, it would cost you around 1-2,000,000 bolts. Anyway, R.Y.N.O stands for... Rip Ya' a New One. The weapons capabilities really do match its name.
Excellent Voice acting, amazing visuals, superb game play, TONS of fun

Jarrod GarripoliIf Insomniac can get their act together and continue making games like A Crack in Time, they will be doing a lot better. ACiT is one of the best Ratchet games out there and Clank's puzzles were truly a great addition.
