Recent trademark information has surfaced which is suggesting that Nintendo may be working on a new alien-themed IP. On April 2, the Mario maker filed a new trademark application for a title named "Codename: S.T.E.A.M. Strike Team Eliminating The Alien Menace". The filing is listed as a video game trademark.
The trademark application was filed with the United States Parent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and listed Nintendo of America as its owner. Nintendo has not officially confirmed this new title, and as Nintendo is not attending PAX East this week in Boston, it may be a while before this news is officially confirmed by the company.
