Sony has made all of its current PlayStation platforms the home of great, unique-looking upcoming indie titles. One of these titles that caught my eye on the show floor of E3 today was Dynamighty’s CounterSpy, a side-scrolling stealth platformer featuring procedurally generated levels and a unique, minimalistic cel-shaded art style.
Players control a spy from the C.O.U.N.T.E.R. agency, sent to infiltrate a Russian base in order to halt the launch of a nuclear warhead. The most notable aspect of CounterSpy is its evocative art style, conjuring imagery of classic 1950s propaganda posters, resulting in an incredibly unique style I don’t see in many games...
