Vaan is one of the main playable characters of Final Fantasy XII. He is an orphan who hails from the streets of Rabanastre, situated in the kingdom of Dalmasca. His dream is to become a Sky Pirate one day, so he can freely travel throughout the land of Ivalice. He has a brother, named Reks, who ends up dying during the conflict at Nalbina Fortress. Vaan also appears in the sequel to FFXII, Revenant Wings, as well as guest appearances in Final Fantasy Tactics A2 and Dissidia 012.
