To activate the boss fight take the gold hemmed robes from the altar then run like hell back to valley shortcut this will make a good defence from the bosses attacks as the path is just long enough to be out of his whips range then wait for him to use the whip, you will have to be standing out in the open and then duck behind cover when he begins to use the whip attack then dash to the tentacle as he recover and get a good few hits in, rinse an repeat for 20,000 souls.
