Atelier Rorona
In Year 2 of Roronlina Frixell's quest to save her atelier her master, Astrid Zexis, asked Rorona if she would like a little brother or sister. A month after replying that a brother would be prefered, Astrid introduced Hom (M).
Although introduced as a child, Hom is a homonculus which is later learned to be made by mixing a few types of herbs and horse droppings in a flask. If droppings are in short supply, human semen appears to be an acceptible replacement.
Hom always refers to Rorona as "Master" and is always straight-faced and lacks emotions.
Atelier Meruru
12 years after Rorona saves her atelier, she reappears as a child with Astrid and the Hom's in Arls Kingdom, where Princess Meruru is using alchemy to develop her kingdom.
Although their main objective is to look after the tiny Rorona, Astrid orders them to help out Meruru while Rorona is left in her care.
While helping their "Mini Master", the Hom's display a small amount of emotion, especially depression when they believe that Keina is a better helper than them, bringing them one step closer to being human.
