Archon Lucien is the guardian of the angels' key to the Well of Souls in Darksiders II. Infused with a glowing golden light, he is bound to the Crystal Spire and unable to leave. Despite this, Archon is battle hardened from countless eons of war against demons.
When Death headed to Lostlight in search of the key to the Well of Souls, Archon claimed the key was stored within the unreachable Ivory Citadel. In order to clear the path of Corruption, Death would need to retrieve the Rod of Arafel from Earth. After traveling to the Ivory Citadel, Death learns that it was Archon that had brought Corruption to the realm, having gone mad after discovering the truth about Abaddon.
