Crowfather is the Keeper of Secrets and the neutral character in Darksiders II, being both an antagonist and an ally. Although his history and origin is a mystery, the black crows that surround him have gathered the secrets of the world since creation.
When the Four Horsemen were charged with destroying all Nephilim, Death gathered their souls in an amulet and intrusted it with the Crowfather, asking that Dust be bound to him in exchange. After the Apocalypse, Death comes seeking the Crowfather's assistance in proving War's innocence and restoring humanity. Twisted into madness by the hate and anguish of the souls within the amulet, the Crowfather quickly refuses, bargaining for Death to take back the amulet. Refusing, Death is forced to defend himself when the Crowfather attacks.
