There are many different kinds of Goombas that can be found throughout all of the Mario games. This page will identify all of the different kinds of Goombas, with the name of the Goomba, a short dscription of them, and the first game in which they appeared.

| Bellhop Goomba | Patrol the hotel floors and open doors to stop Mario. A jump or fireball defeats them. | Hotel Mario |
| Bone Goomba | Blue-colored Goombas that wear a skull on top of their head. They behave like normal Goombas, and when jumped on, the skull reveals their main body. | New Super Mario Bros. 2 |
| Choomba | Giant, metallic Goombas with a chimney on their head. They attack by either jumping on Bowser or running into him, which is telegraphed by the smoke signal they produce before. | Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story |
| Chuboomba | A large Goomba holding a lollipop, that attacks Bowser by tackling him. | Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story |
| Dark Goomba | Shadow-like Goombas that are just tougher versions of the enemy. There are other variations, like Dark Paragoombas, Dark Headbone ones and Dark Spiked ones. | Super Paper Mario |
| Gloomba | Blue-colored Goombas that are more powerful than the regular Goombas. | Paper Mario |
| Goomba (special) | These are slightly different than the regular Goombas featured in previous Mario games. They do not die in one hit, unless the spin jump or fireballs are used. | Super Mario World |
| Goombeetle | Goombas wearing a helmet, which allows them to be safe from Mario's jumps. Spin attacks will flip them over, which allows Mario to jump on them. | Super Mario Galaxy |
| Goombo | Goombas that reside in Sarasaland, and are considered cousins of the normal Goomba. | Super Mario Land |
| Goombrat | They have a different appearance, looking almost like a tomato or a persimmon. They turn when they reach edges, but function similar to normal Goombas. | New Super Mario Bros. U |
| Goombule | Cell-based Goombas that attack Mario and Luigi in Bowser's body by either charging or rolling into them. | Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story |
| Goomdiver | This is a regular Goomba that is wearing a diving suit helmet. | Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga |
| Grand Goomba | These are larger than normal Goombas, which function like normal Goombas, although in later games, they required additional hits to defeat. | Super Mario Bros. 3 |
| Gritty Goomba | Goombas wrapped in bandages, with a spiked pole sticking out of their head. | Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga |
| Headbonk Goomba | A silver-colored Goomba that attacks Mario by headbonking him. | Super Paper Mario |
| Hyper Goomba | They are slightly green in color, and can boost their own attack before going after Mario. | Paper Mario |
| Jack O' Goomba | They are regular Goombas wearing a pumpkin over their heads. Ground Pounding will destroy the pumpkin and Goomba in one hit, otherwise they will be normal Goombas after the pumpkin is destroyed. | Super Mario Galaxy |
| Mad Goomba | Red-colored Goombas with a mad expression on their face, that can stomp their feet, sending out an earthquake. | Super Princess Peach |
| Mega Goomba | The biggest species of Goomba in the Mario games, even bigger than Grand Goombas. | New Super Mario Bros. Wii |
| Micro-Goomba | Small Goombas that act more as an hindrance than an enemy. In some games, they can attach to Mario, limiting his jumping ability. | Super Mario Bros. 3 |
| Octoomba | They are a combination of an octopus and a Goomba, they either headbutt Mario or spit rocks on him (depending on the game). | Super Mario Galaxy |
| Paragoomba | Goombas that have wings and can either fly or bounce around in levels. Jumping on them will remove their wings, making them normal Goombas. | Super Mario Bros. 3 |
| Pirate Goomba | Goombas with green bandanas that shoot the player back to the start if they land on their space. They are led by Captain Goomba. | Mario Party 8 |
| Prickly Goomba | They hide in spiked chestnut shells, making them only vulnerable by hitting them with a fireball, which makes them normal Goombas. | New Super Mario Bros. Wii |
| Rhinestone Goomba | Goombas that are Elvis Presley impersonators that are the same as regular Goombas, but are very fast. | Hotel Mario |
| Sad Goomba | Blue-colored Goombas that are always crying, but when approached, they stop and charge at Princess Peach. | Super Princess Peach |
| Spiked Goomba | A Goomba that is wearing a green hat, fitted with a spike on top, making it so Mario can't jump on it. | Paper Mario |
| Tail Goomba | A Goomba with a tanooki tail, which it uses to try and attack Mario. | Super Mario 3D Land |
| Tanoomba | Similar to the Tail Goomba, except it has tanooki ears and a super leaf on its head. It attacks by mimicking and shapeshifting into different objects. In Partners in Time, a shroobified version, called the Tashrooba, exists. | Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga |
| Terekuribo | Undead creatures that are a combination of a Boo and Goomba. It moves and acts like a Goomba, but has the powers of a Boo. | Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins |
