Alfred Pennyworth is the butler to Bruce Wayne, co-created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. His first appearance was in the Batman #16, which came out in 1943. Most sources say that he was hired to the staff after Bruce's parents were killed, helping to raise him. At first, he didn't know about Batman being Bruce Wayne, but ended up stumbling upon the Batcave one day and became a servant to both personas.
Unlike his employer, Alfred has not had much exposure in video games. However, he does appear in the Batman: Arkham series, LEGO Batman: The Videogame, and in Batman Begins.
