Slippy Toad is a major support character in the Star fox Series. Slippy is a childhood friend of Fox and serves as the teams mechanic and main inventor. He also pilots an arwing alongside Fox- though his skills as a pilot are sub-par. An example of this would be the countless times that Fox must save Slippy due to enemies chasing after him.
