Tom Vercetti is the main protagonist in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. He is a former member of the Forelli Family, and is the gang leader of Vercetti, based out of Vice City. After being convicted of murder, he is let out of prison by Sonny Forelli pulling strings with his associates. This begins his adventure in Vice City: Becoming the leader of the criminal underworld.
While intelligent, Tommy is rather temperamental and is always looking for a fight. Arguably, he is the most vicious protagonist in the entire Grand Theft Auto Series. Though he is not hesitant to kill, he normally has a good reason. This is rivaled by his softer side, with his relationships with Mercedes Cortez and Earnest Kelly acting as sort of a friend/family figure.
