Chunsoft was a video game developer that was founded in Japan in 1984 by Koichi Nakamura. They are best known for creating role-playing games, such as the Mystery Dungeon series and the first five games in the Dragon Quest franchise, as well as visual novels. The name came from a character named Chun, who appeared in the company's first game, Door Door. The company would later merge with Spike in 2012, to become Spike Chunsoft.
