The Ar tonelico series is a series of three role-playing video games developed by Gust for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3. All three games take place in the world of Ar Ciel, with each game residing in the regions around on of the three towers or Ar Ciel: Sol Ciel, Metafalss, and Sol Cluster.
In the world of Ar Ciel, humans and Reyvateils, a manufactured race of females who were originally created to maintain Ar tonelico, live together. All life comes from Symphonic Power, a form of energy that allows for the manifestation of the Song Magic used by Reyvateils.
