To unlock Oni Kid a playable character you need to clear all 16 floors of the Phantom Realm

Phantom Realm is the optional dungeon that first unlocks after clearing Episode 13 It consists of 16 floors although they dont all unlock until after clearing Episode 40 You cannot steal anything from the enemies in the Phantom Realm
