After the initial introduction with Nemo and his friends, the first task that Nemo needs is to learn how to build a reef. To do this, you need to tap the quest icon on the left side of the screen. Here you will be given the information you need to perform this task.

- Harvesting Algae: This is the first step in building your reef. Tap the Algae and it will be automatically harvested in a few seconds.
- Building Plants: Once you have attained Algae, the next step is to build Plants. These are needed for the fish to live in. Tap the “Menu” button in the bottom left corner of the screen. Here, you need to tap the “Yellow Table Plant” in the “Nursery” category to begin placing down the Plants.
- Plant Placement: Now, in placement mode, you can drag the outline of the Plant around and then tap the checkmark to place it down permanently. One thing to remember is that a plant can only be placed on a patch of green.
- Growing Plants: Once the Yellow Table Plant is placed, you need to tap on it to make it grow. Once tapped, another tapping action is required after a few seconds to make the plant reach its full maturity.
- Decorating reef: Decorations are needed to attract more fish to your reef. To do this, you need to access the “Ornamental” tab in Nursery category. Here you can buy a Red Branch to place on your reef. Similar to the Yellow Table Plant, it needs to be placed and then grown on the reef.
Vitality:
Vitality of your reef is represented by the pink heart on the top left side of the screen and is a constantly changing feature of the game. It represents the number of guests, rare fish, rare plants and ornamental plants that are currently on your reef. The aim of the player should be to keep the vitality at 100%, since this increases a player’s chances of growing rare plants. Having rare plants is very beneficial as it attracts rare fish to the reef.
Quests and Tasks:
To progress further in the game, several quests and tasks need to be completed. These quests increase a player’s level along with rewarding him/her with items and experience. Available quests can be seen on the left side of the screen. Once you tap on a quest, a popup will appear indicating the task at hand and how to complete it. Once completed, you will again be prompted with a popup indicating that the quest has been completed and the rewards you received by doing so.
Expanding your Reef:
As more and more fish start living on your reef, new expansions will become available. A player should try to have an abundant supply of Sand dollars and Algae; since these two are crucial in reef expansion. Players should also try to collect starfishes and experience points, as this increases a player’s level and unlocks newer corals, algae and decors.
