Samphi is a 2D role-playing game with tower-defense and survival elements. The terrain is randomly generated for every player. There will be both a Story Mode and a Freeplay Mode for the game, with the Freeplay Mode offering players the ability to do whatever they want without needing a goal.
For Story Mode, the game will split it into different memories, where the player will have a goal in each one to fulfill. The basic gameplay will still remain the same and it's not clear what the goal for each level will be. Once the player has finished all of these memories and reached the girl, the story mode will be completed.
Movement and Exploration
The character moves along a 2D plane, and has the ability to walk, jump, attack, and interact. Interacting with pieces of the environment while holding a tool, such as a shovel or axe, will allow the player to destroy and collect the materials, such as dirt and wood. Collected materials will be stored in the player's inventory.
As the player explores the world, they'll encounter more things to harvest from, such as trees and rocks. Some materials can be consumed by the player, such as apples. Food is required in order to stay alive. If a rod and bait is crafted, the player can fish to catch more food. The player is followed by a dog, who can help them survive in the wild.
Crafting
Crafting is a huge thing to do in Samphi. As the player collects resources from the environment, they will be able to create new items from them. When they open the crafting screen, they can drag the resources into the large box and if the selected items make something, it will appear in the box between the arrows. This can be used to experiment with different outcomes, from making sticks, to arrows and even weapons like the bow and sword.
Combat
The crafting mechanic allows players to create swords and bows, the only two weapons in the game. When night falls in the game, they'll encounter waves of hostile creatures such as zombies, slimes, and shadows. These will attempt to harm the player and can destroy things they've created, but can be defended against with the weapons. Clicking on the enemy with either weapons equipped will attack the enemy. There is a life bar for each enemy above them, which when depleted, will kill that enemy.
