Tekken Revolution - Gameplay

Tekken Revolution is a free-to-play fighting game with an initial roster of eight characters available for use, the game has more characters that unlock as you play or can be bought with real money.

This game is the first time in the series that allows players to level up their fighters, as well as employing a ranking system to show off the player's skill. It was released with a limited selection of characters, so as not to overwhelm beginning players with the large number of Tekken characters in previous entries.

Game Mode

Arcade Mode allows you to play against a series CPU opponents to get familiar with the game and it`s controls.

Player Match lets you play against your friends or other players without affecting your rank.

Rank Match will let you play with other player but will have an impact over your rank.

Basic Combat & Changes

Combat revolves around each player trying to beat their opponent to a pulp before their health reaches zero from the other player's damage. Each health bar is displayed on the top of the screen in orange, with lost health appearing in red. Depending on the match settings, the time left in the match will be displayed between the health bars. If the time reaches zero with no opponent defeated, the player with the most health wins the round.

The Rage system from the previous games returns, with the character doing extra damage when the player's health gauge is low. The old Bound system, which allowed the characters to stagger in order to greatly increase the chance to inflict additional attacks, has also been removed with the only way to activate it is by breaking or falling through environments.

The game comes with two new types of fighting methods:

  • Special Arts: Powerful moves that have a period of invincibility at start of move but leave you vulnerable when blocked.
  • Critical Arts: Chance for greatly increased damage on critical hit (4 moves per character).

Stat Upgrades

New to Tekken Revolution is the ability to raise the individual stats of the characters. There are 3 powers introduced that boost stats and increase chances for critical hits:

  • Power increases the general attack power for the character.
  • Vigor increases the chances of delivering critical hits.
  • Endurance increases the character's health.

    Premium Items

Battle Coins are used to play Rank and Player Matches. One is replenished every 30 minutes. Max amount is 5.

Premium Tickets can be used for Rank Match, Player Match, or Arcade Mode.

Arcade Coins are used to play Arcade Mode. One is depleted after clearing the mode, or when losing to the CPU. One is replenished every 60 minutes. Max amount is 2.

Premium Coins are Special coins purchased in the PlayStation® Store. Can be used for Rank Match, Player Match, or Arcade Mode.
