LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey is an action-adventure game that follows Laval, a warrior from the Lion clan, who is called upon to fight for justice for the world of Chima. As players explore Chima, they will collect chi and allies to become more powerful and beat their enemies.
Health
The character's health is indicated by hearts in the upper left corner of the screen. As the player takes damage, the hearts will become empty and need to be refilled by defeating enemies or destroying objects to find hearts.
Combat
Combat in Legends of Chima is a simple one button execution to perform a basic attack. That being said, the player can create combos by pressing the attack button multiple times in a row. Additionally, most characters have a more powerful attack that can be charged up for use by holding down the attack button and then releasing it to perform a devastating attack.
Other forms of attack include the slam jump attack, which cause damage and also stun nearby enemies, which is performed by jumping and then pressing attack while in mid air.
Destructible Environments
Almost everything in the environment can be destroyed, with them dropping coins that the player can collect as a form of currency. In some cases, enemies or environment objects will drop objects that can be used in the environment to continue progress, such as building a jump pad or dropping a crank for a wheel that opens a door.
Unlocking Characters
Multiple characters can be unlocked in the game for Free Play Mode. Some are unlocked through the games progression, while others require the player to find their Character Token in the world and then purchase the characters.
