Tips and Strategies
Bronze Players
Don't waste your coins on bronze players when you are considering buying new players, save up for silver ones. By the time you have the money, most of the players you started the game with will have leveled up and will be better than the bronze players anyway so it is a waste of coin!
Improving Your Team
There are two ways to add new players to your team: The first is by purchasing select players through the items sub-menu, checking them for special abilities, such as the ability to perform a group-clearing jump kick or a more talented quarterback. You can buy these with in-game coins, though some require a direct premium purchase. That being said, you should be fine with the players available with the coins you collect through the game.
Another way to get a better team is through decks. Decks is a collection of cards featuring players, boosts and other assets (including player and combo decks). Similar to the player cards, you can buy them with in-game coins or by using your own money.

If you don't want to purchase either, you can choose to stick with the players that you are given at the beginning of the game. Players will level up, improving in a number of areas. This option take time, but it is worth it in the end.
Leveling Up Your Players
Leveling up your players is done by earning experience points. To earn experience points you have to make a good play or beat up other players. Switch players a lot during plays so that you can use them to win fights and gain experience.
Mix Up Your Team
Since your players get experience for almost everything it is easy for large imbalances to form in your team if you are constantly playing between certain players. Switch as often as possible so you have a well rounded team.
Earning Coins
Earning coins is as easy as taking part in games, with your earning moreif you win a match-up. You can also choose to complete objectives that are set for a match, such as making three or more touchdowns during a contest.
Power-Ups
Power-ups are available for each player, and focus around their position and skill set.
Using a power up at the perfect moment can really push you ahead in the game. If you are on offense, it could result in you running the whole field. If you are on defense it could bury the other teams offense and halt them completely.
For example, a quarterback can obtain a fire pass, which speeds up the flow of the play and also makes it more likely for your receiver to catch the ball. Offensive players also have some interesting power-up moves, gaining abilities like a spin punch to a powerful grand slam. Even better, receivers can get a bomb which they can leave behind shooing defensemen that are on his tail.
To see what power-ups might interest you, go to the games "My Team" menu.
Boosts
Boosts can be found in the item decks and they can make a difference, such as a slight increase in power (making it easier to knock down opponents) or speed (giving you a boost to the end zone).
Here are the options that are available in the game:
- Power Boost: Increases the damage your player inflicts when he punches
- Sticky Hands: Increases receiver's ability to catch passes
- Double Jump: Tapping JUMP while in mid-air allows your player to defy physics and double jump
- Shuffle Speed: Increases quaterbacks movement speed behind the line of scrimmage
- Ground Pound: Knock down all opponents in a given radius
- Stiff Arm: Knock down all opponents in a line while moving
- Fire Bomb: Throw the ball faster and farther and increase the odds of a player being able to catch the pass. The ball is also on FIRE.
Offensive Tactics
After you hike the ball, drop back into the pocket and wait for one of your receivers to open up. If all of your wide receivers have a defender around them, you can still either run the ball or throw a quick pass to a receiver who is closer to the line of scrimmage.
If you are playing a weak team you can drag the player a bit, just so you can get some extra hits in against defenders improving your player's individual levels.
Defensive Tactics
Wait and see what the opposing quarterback is doing. If he drops back into the pocket, run back and start knocking out the receivers lining for the play. This will stop him from passing plays and either force him to make a bad decision or get sacked. If he hands the ball off to a runner or if he tries to run the ball himself, run forward and demolish him and his blockers.
If the other team's quaterback drops back make sure you have a defenseman on every one of his receivers. This way, if the quaterback makes a pass you are ensuring that there is no way it will be caught.
If the quaterback decides to run the ball himself or hand it to a running back throw your defensemen at them with full force. This is a really good way to see the games fighting mechanic.
Having a Bad Season
If you find that you are stuck on a particular team/part of the season, then go back and play games against weaker teams so that you can earn more coins/experience points, all the while protecting your winning record. You can also switch leagues if you can since often that will put you up against weaker teams.
