DUBWARS is a top-down, twin-stick rhythm-based shooter. The game uses dubstep and electronica music to generate your ship's weapons, with each song making its own and unique weapons.
Action
The player controls a small ship, and fights off waves of enemies and ships that are constantly attacking from all angles in typical twin-stick shooter style. The player can move in any direction along the 2D plane, and can change the direction that the ship is facing in order to aim its weapons.

Each level uses a different dubstep song. Each song comes with unique weapons, which can be used along to the beat of the song. The player cannot control their firing rate or which weapons they use. This creates a survival aspect, as calm sections of songs will leave them with very little defense, whereas heavy parts of the songs will make them much more powerful.
There will be different difficulty levels for each stage, such as Light, Medium, Hard and Endless. Not much is known about each one, but Endless suggests that the player keeps going and tries to survive as long as possible. In addition to that, there will be bosses on selected stages, where the music will keep playing until the boss is defeated.
Progression
Each level has a score-counter, which will be increased by things such as survival, killing enemies, and collecting bonuses. In addition, collectibles are scattered throughout the levels, which will allow the player to progress to additional levels and buy bonuses in the game's store. Each weapon can be upgraded in an in-game store, with the weapons being carried onto future levels. Each level has a timer showing how long the player has survived for.
