Tips and Strategies
General Tips
Once you have the game down you will likely find the default speed a little too slow. If you want to speed it up, head to the options in the menu setting.
Digging Strategies
If you are left too far behind you'll eventually lose the game and have to start over. Despite this, you shouldn't just aimlessly dig. Let the screen scroll down a bit so you can see what's coming, and which paths will make your pickaxe go a little further.
Want to make your pickaxe last longer, well upgrade it - something you can start doing at Level 2. This is the best place to invest your money, as the longer is last the more cash you acquire.
Sometimes you can tap against one of the tiles to cause a candle to appear. These help illuminate the path ahead and make it easier to dig deeper.
Unlocking More Tiles
To access new tiles you'll need to play until you've leveled up. The more powerful you are the longer you'll last.
Challenging Friends
If you are online you should be able to challenge a friend. Watch the portrait icons when you start an excavation. The portrait image can be tapped to find out which of your friends it represents and challenge them.
Money & Rewards
Minimize how many dirt tiles you tap and concentrate on the juicy resource tiles wherever possible. Avoid using boosters in the beginning until you have a mighty pickaxe to get the maximum worth out of them.
Gaining Rubies, Cards & Energy
The major expenses are rubies, but you can get these for free from chests in the stages. Wooden and Iron chests are the most likely place to get free rubies, but they require keys.
Keys can be bought with rubies, but that would defeat the purpose. Instead, you can earn them using the Quests in the stages. These require you to complete a specific task, such as breaking 54 dirt blocks or break 6 grenade boxes.
Cards are found in chests or crates, gained as the starred bonus boxes that you can tap. Wooden chests will never contain cards, but Iron chests will contain common cards. Gold chests will contain uncommon cards with a chance for rare and Diamond chests contain rare cards with a chance for mythical or legendary cards.
Getting free energy when you run out is as simple as setting the time on your phone ahead and then then going back to the game.
