Tips and Strategies
Take Your Time (Unless it's Timed)
Think before you make your moves to make every move effective.
Reaching the target score within a set number of moves requires some strategic swiping in the higher levels. In addition, any moves left over is converted into special crystals and any special crystals left over will explode in Free Fall Mode and give bonus points.
Work from the Bottom
Eliminating gems at the bottom of the screen gives more room and opportunity for combos to appear at the top.
Use Combinations
While simply matching three gems willl make them explode, using combinations will allow you to create more effective chains and clear the board quickly.
Matching four crystals will create a crystal with a shining center, which when matched up will eliminate the row or column it is in, whil matching five crystals will create a frozen crystal, which when matched will freeze and smash all other crystals in a 9 x 9 grid. In addition, whenever you create a 'T' or 'L' shape you will also create a snowflake. Snowflakes will spin and destroy every crystal on the screen of the same color.
Bring any of these special crystals together, and it's possible to anihilate almost the entire screen - useful when running low on moves, or short on time.
Don't Rush to Use Special Crystals
Since bringing any two special crystals together will create an even bigger explotion, don't rush to use the first one you create. Instead, try to keep it around until you make a section one and combine them to destroy everything in sight.
Getting a Three Star Rating
Keep an eye on the meter in the top left of the screen if you plan on getting three stars. As you create matches and destroy crystals you'll fill up this bar.
Save Special Moves and Items
Although the characters and their unique abilities are unlockable, the number of times you can use their assistance is finite - unless you want to pay real money for them. Save these unique abilities and items for much later in the game when the difficulty ramps up.
Clearing Snow
Sometimes you will need to clear snow in order to complete a level. In order to do this, create matches that run along these special crystals to clear more snow with every match.
Cheat - Free Extra Lives
Extra lives are granted once every 30 minutes, so if you run out, or don't want to pay for more, you will have to wait. You can ignore this by adjusting the date and time of your device forward a little.
Beware, though, because setting the time back again loses the lives gained, so it's best to set it back to the normal time when you know you're not going to be playing for a while, like when you're asleep.
