Tips and Strategies
Getting Three Stars
If you are competitive and you want to achieve 3 starts on each Level in Letris 3, then you need to reach a certain high score. This high score should be on the info before starting the level, so make sure you memorize it. Different star tiers have different point requirements.
It is worth waiting for a four letter scoring opportunity to come up rather than zooming through the level with three letter words and blitzing the objectives. Although, this is fine and it gets you through the level, you will not get a 3 star rating.
Get more stars
If you find that you are running out of stars and cant unlock the next set of challenges, go back to the beginning levels. You will find it much easier to complete these levels than you initially did as you will have had more practice.
Plurals ARE Allowed
Keep an eye out for the letter S on the board, and then see if you can work backwards to create a 5 letter word. Combined you will meet the 6 letter word requirements that some of the more trickier levels challenge you to do.
Bi-Lingual
If you know more than one language you can pay real money to unlock a second language. This will give you more words to play with, but it does make the game harder.
Balance your Objectives
Try to make your words along the entire wall, this way you will clear more blocks for every word you create, making the overall job easier. Though if you rush to clear walls you might miss out on a 3 star score, so be careful and make sure you are balancing your objectives.
Check in on your Progress
At the upper right corner of the screen you can see how you are progressing through the rankings. It is worth taking a look at this every now and again to see if you are bang on your target of 3 stars or if you may need to revisit levels.
Speeding Things Up
If you are finding the game a bit too slow paced for you at the beginning levels then press the arrow at the bottom right hand corner of the screen and make the letters fall faster. Be careful not to press it too much though, as this may overwhelm the screen and risk you failing the level.
Infinite Lives Uses
Spending a few dollars unlocking the infinite lives mode in the game is worth it as it removes the waiting around for the timer to top up again. With a relatively small asking price there is enough content to justify it.
Killing the Monsters
You are going to need to clear tiles that are adjacent to a monsters position in order to kill it.
Concentrate on three letter words that run along the length or height of the monster.
Ice
You can still create words from letters trapped in ice, so don’t be overcome by them.
Once you have made a three letter word out of them the tiles will explode causing upper tiles to fall into place.
Relax Modes
There are two relax modes in the game and they are unlockable with stars. Follow the point above about going back to the first few levels that were initially difficult.
Word Matrix
WordMatrix mode can rapidly get out of control so work evenly around the board from left to right, top to bottom. This way you are unlikely to leave an stacks of letters that can’t be used.
Acronymus Mode
The Acronymus mode is all about creating words that can be formed using all of the letters you're presented with just once. Just be aware that the letters don't have to be in a continuous line to form the word - you can move back and forth between them at will.
