Ar Nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star is a Japanese role-playing game developed by Gust for the PlayStation 3. This game was released on September 26 in Europe and September 23 in the US. The game is a continuation of Ciel Nosurge: Ushinawareta Hoshi e Sasagu Uta, as well as a prequel to the Ar tonelico series of games.
The story unfolds through the experiences of interchanging protagonists. Delta and Casty fight to protect humanity against the Sharl, a mysterious new life for that has suddenly appeared and begun abducting the people of Orei. The second party, Earthes and Ion, fight under the belief that humans and the Sharl should be able to coexist.

Story
The story begins with the first two protagonists, Delta and Casty. This pair must find and obtain a special song for Sarly, a friend of theirs. The name of this song is Ciel N Protecta, and this song has apparently been stolen. This was causing the machines in Felion to go crazy, and thus begins the duo's search. However, they end up getting caught by the Genomirai Church. The church's leader, Zir, plans to sing and use a Song Magic that is very dangerous.
Gameplay
Ar nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star is a Japanese role-playing game that takes place in the same universe as the Ar tonelico series of games, as it's an actual prequel to them. While there are some similar aspects between the two games, Ar nosurge also introduces many new mechanics to the series.

As Delta and Earthes each have their own set of attacks to perform, there are a variety of Song Magic attacks that Casty and Ion can perform. Not only are some of these attacks more powerful than others, but they are also able to effect the personality of these two protagonists. So when choosing which Song Magic attacks to perform each battle, choose wisely!
Editions
The NIS American Online Store will be offering a limited edition of Ar Nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star. Gamestop will also be providing an extra incentive to this limited edition when pre-ordered. They will be offering a DLC set with two Misogi Expansion Packs (Nay and Kanon), a dynamic custom theme based on the Felion Console.
