Shuriken Block Overview
Shuriken Block is a strategy game developed by Dong Nguyen and released on iOS.
Shuriken Block Tips and Cheats
Since it is designed by the creator of Flappy Bird, there’s no surprise that Shuriken Block can be just as infuriating. However, this game allows three mistakes before Game Over, and the points system is more rewarding.
Here are a few tips if you’re going for a high score.
Relax
As with all of Nguyen’s games, rage doesn’t help, so if you’re becoming too frustrated with your score, walk away from it and come back later
Be aware of the shadows
Keep an eye on the shadows as the shurikens rise in the background, so you know where to tap. This becomes even more important when the missiles are coming down thick and fast – sometimes you’ll need both hands ready to protect the little characters lined up along the fence.
Don’t sacrifice a life for the sake of a couple of points
The maximum points you can earn per successful block is 10, if you tap directly under the shuriken as it falls. The earlier you tap, the fewer points you’ll earn, but forsaking a point or two with every tap does increase the chances of a longer run.
Try using the fence as a guide
Instead of blocking the shurikens while they're still high in the sky, some players like to use the horizontal line of the blue fence to gauge exactly when to tap for maximum points.
Don’t focus too hard
Keep a soft focus somewhere in the middle of the screen – if you follow each shuriken with your eyes, you won’t be able to move quick enough.
Cheat – by getting a friend to help
There are at least two ways of playing two-player – one is by each player adopting two or three ‘victims’ to protect, (can be a bit crowded if playing on a phone) and the other is by one player calling out the order in which the missiles are coming, and the other doing all the blocking. Whichever works best, it can improve on a solo score.
Keep Practicing
It is possible to improve your skills at this game with practice, and achieve some impressive high scores, so keep trying, and those points will come!
