Let's see 3x60 foods = 180@660 coin cost. 4x40 foods = 160@530 coin cost so you're paying 130 (the cost to process 1x40 foods) for 20 additional foods..........Guess it's the new math.

What are the 'cogs' you refer to, please?

Here's a tip, collect cogs, there worth 500.$$.. plenty enough to grow food and chop things up!! Also as the game progress, the cost of food rises and the amount of $$ from houses decreases. build houses up for more $$. Also there are other ways to earn $$ ..just keep your eyes open, and dont forget to collect your gold!!

As far as I know you only get keys when you 'complete a quest'. That being said, I haven't had one show up since I first started playing (other than the freebie you get in the beginning). If desperate I buy one for 10 diamonds..........but I've only been desperate once so far.

maybe try reloading the game? mine had an update get the rope from where you buy dynomite and batteries

Mine still says the maps

If you keep refreshing your game, it will eventually change it to rope instead. It took mine several days before it would update and remove the map. I got through the area after that.
