Cheats and Tips
Pick Finleon When you Start
At the beginning of the game, you'll choose between 5 Micromon as your starter. Each Micromon is affiliated with a different element and each element has it's own strengths and weaknesses. Your options are the following:
- Normal - Vidri
- Water - Finleon
- Fire - Glareon
- Wind - Gust
-
Mineral - Crystoise
You would think they'd be all balanced out, right? Wrong. As it turns out, your best choice would be Finleon (the Water element Micromon). Reason? Take a look at this chart explaining the different elements and how they stack up against other elements:
| Element | Strong Against | Weak Against | Strength to Weakness Ratio |
| Normal | Nothing | Nothing | 0:0 |
| Water | Fire and Mineral | Wind | 2:1 |
| Fire | Wind | Water | 1:1 |
| Wind | Water | Mineral and Fire | 1:2 |
| Mineral | Wind | Water | 1:1 |
As you can see, the Water element is strong against 2 elements and weak against only 1, making it the best out of the bunch.
Store-bought Micromon Develop Quicker
All Micromon eggs obtained from the in-game lottery have a much higher development rate than Micromon obtained in the wild. On top of that, store-bought Micromon hatch at the same level as your highest level Micromon.
Always Carry a Fast Micromon
Micromon with high speed rates (4 or above) tend to use more healing moves during battle and sometimes get two attacks off before your opponent gets one. Always make sure you have at least one.
Look for Sleeping Micromon
While walking around in the wild, you'll sometimes see little "Z's" floating upwards from a patch of grass. That marks a sleeping Micromon. Attacking these guys are great for 2 reasons. Firstly, it's a great way to capture new Micromon, as well as level up the ones you already have. Secondly, you'll always attack first; giving you the advantage. Just make sure to get out of the grass quickly when you're done catching Micromon so you don't end up in another battle.
Seeing a Micromon adds it to your database
You don’t need to dive into battle with every newly discovered Micromon you come across, simply seeing it is enough for it to be added into your database.
Micromon With Low Development Rates Aren't Worth It
If a Micromon has “DR” in its stats, that means it has a low development rate. These Micromon are not worth your time, as they develop slowly and are basically worthless. The only time you should bother with these Micromon is when you’re trying to fill your collection.
Stash Your Super Chips
Super chips will come in handy when attempting to catch “Rare” and” Ultra Rare” Micromon - catching one without a Super Chip can prove to be quite difficult. Just be sure to lower the wild Micromon’s hit points as much as you can before using the chip, otherwise you have a greater chance of losing the catch.
Luke Comes in Handy
Normally, once you defeat a legion member, this guy named Luke will show up. He is a database expert who looks for the strongest tamers and invites them to hidden locations that contain rare and sometimes never before seen Micromon.
Save Often
The game has an auto-save feature, but it will sometimes be unreliable. Save your game every time you do something significant in case the autosave doesn't do it for you. This ensures that you don't end up losing precious progress by relying on the autosave.
