You start out in front of what presumably is Helen's home, if you go inside (which you must if you wish to make progress.) you'll see two pots, two cabinets and a treasure chest. In the Treasure chest you'll find a longbow and learn how to open your inventory (esc), at the pots hit enter to break them, one holds a health boost which gives an automatic plus 2 health, the cabinets and book shelves are useless so head back outside.
Once back outside if you wish you can talk to green hair, but heading north takes you to some old ruins, fght the slime at the entrance with your bow and head in when it's defeated. Here you'll see a ledge leading to some sparkly water, hit enter at it to heal and then go open the treasure chest in the side room for a shiled and another slime fight, after the fight try to take the stairs, here you'll fight a goblin, kill him and go down.
You now should be on BF1, here you'll see a goblin walking off map, go to he 3x3 tile patch, the middle is the entry, defeat the gobln and follow th path for a sword, go back and either fight or skip the slime (recommend you fight as you'll need the exp to upgrade weapons.) and continue through the room past the skeleton and down for a pigman fight and a pot with a health boost then go back to fight the skeleton and go down.
Now you should be on BF2, ignore the path in front of you as that is a boss fght you are not quite ready for, instead fight your way through the enemies and around the room to get the thunder tome (which I recommend using all your exp to fully level if you intend to be able to use it. While here I'll explain upgrading, go into your inventory and press enter on the item you wish to level, keep hitting enter till you can't anymore or switch to a different item if you wish.) after acquiring the tome don't bother moving and prepare for mummy attack, deafeat it and go challenge the stone golem you previously skipped and go downstairs (trust me on the tome upgrade and no problem.)
Welcom, welcome to 5th floor, here you'll have two paths, left takes you down (though still 5th floor oddly.) and right takes you for the broadsword, I recommend grabbing the broadsword and ignoring the other possible sword here as broadsword will be better once leveled. After grabbing the broadsword go back, heal if needed, and go down the stairs, ignore the secret path in this room (worse shield than what you have.) and go to the bottom of the room with another choice for stairs.
Your choice of stair makes little difference as you can go around the room, but you'll see two gold doors and must make a choice, left is a trusty dagger which will do pierce damage and I'm not sure how usefull it mght be and right will be a power bracelet, also not sure what it's exact use is though I recommend it over the dagger, choose the one you want and ignore the other as the door of what you don't choose will lock and find the stairs down.
