Tips and Strategies
Always get a head start
As the race starts, you can already gain an edge in winning by taking advantage of the starting boost. The trick to always getting the starting boost is to wait for the countdown, and press exactly when the "Go" message shows up on your screen.
Timing is everything
Similar to the starting boosts, you will have the acceleration pedal which you will have to press at the right time in order to accelerate at maximum speed possible. There also will be indications on the screen where it will ask you to swipe in the right directions at the right time. By timing them perfectly, not only can you get speed boosts, you can also earn bonus experience points!
Watch the turns
Always make sure to slow down when a turn comes. Usually, by slowing down and passing a curve successfully, you gain a speed boost, so in essence, by slowing down, you get to speed up in the end! If you don't slow down, you may end up crashing. Also, remember to not slow down with every single curve you pass. Only slow down on turns that are particularly dangerous, as you may not want to unnecessarily lose too much speed.
Practice races
By winning these practice races, you will be able to earn paint jobs and accessories for your cars. In doing so, you will be able to widen your customization range.
Mix your decorations up
In decorating your Town, use a variety of fast and slow decorations. Quick decorations give you less coins in a short period of time, while slow decorations give you more coins, however in a longer period of time.
Can you win this?
Before starting a race, there will be a meter on your screen showing you the race's difficulty. If it seems too hard for you, you may want to return to your town and upgrade your car in the garage so you can be better equipped in taking on these races.
More missions, more coins
Lightning McQueen's and Mater's missions usually give you more chances to earn bonus coins and experience points. Just make sure to activate them by tapping on them when an exclamation point is shown over their heads, which will tell you what you need to complete in order to gain rewards.
McQueen's missions always tend to be about racing, while Mater mostly asks you to do stuff around town. Both of their missions are mostly easy, so grinding them will earn you a lot of coins and experience points which will allow you to upgrade your car and take on even more difficult missions.
Pound the alarm!
If you see sleeping cars, wake them up! They'll start doing the usual things that you need them to do again, and you'll get a few experience points as well. It's a little bit, but it's better than nothing!
