First empty your hold, you lose everything you collected but get home free. Wait on the island until the new refill period starts (mine is midnight local time) if you fill your tanks and stores then don't travel, you will have double the limit when you do travel. (Your fill energy and provisions plus your free refills)

if you click on the last island in sec 2, it shows you green crystals. click to find and it takes you back....:)
