Gauntlet: Slayer Edition Releases on PS4 This Summer

Over at the PlayStation Blog, Arrow Game Studios has announced that Gauntlet: Slayer Edition will be coming to the PlayStation 4 later this summer.

"The classic Gauntlet four-player co-op action returns in a completely new experience. Play as one of four distinct heroes in an intense, monster-filled dungeon brawler, with a combination of both uniquely built and randomly generated levels to explore. Battle the endless hordes of foes as you and your friends fight for treasure and glory via both local and online co-op multiplayer."

Gauntlet: Slayer Edition will cost $19.99 and anyone who pre-orders the game will receive Mordok's Screaming Hammer and Reaper's Visage Helm for the Warrior.

Emil Englund, Game Director at Arrowhead Game Studios, also left a note outlining new features for the PlayStation 4 version:

Improved game mechanics
Bigger toolset for Hero Abilities
A new Game Mode
Reworked loadout mechanic
More variation in visuals and monster encounters

The original Gauntlet was released 30 years ago in 1985 and has since gone on to spawn several sequels and remakes. Gauntlet: Slayer Edition was originally released last year on the PC.
