SEGA has lowered its six month forecast for the first half of the current fiscal year. Revenue expectations are 22 percent lower than before, while profits are forecast to be 54 percent lower.
Two reasons have been given for the lowered forecast:
Some Pachislot and Pachinko machines were delayed to the second half of the fiscal year.
SEGA has asked 200 employees at Taiyo to accept 'voluntary retirement'.
SEGA originally expected revenue for the six month period to be ¥200 billion ($1.7 billion), but it has been lowered to ¥156 billion ($1.3 billion). Profits are expected to be cut in half to ¥6.5 billion ($54 million), from ¥14 billion ($116 million).
