Details for Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization have been revealed in an interview with Bandai Namco producer Yosuke Futami and Aquria producer Satoshi Hirayae, as translated by Gematsu.
The game will start from the very beginning of the Sword Art Online story. Kirito starts at level 1 and over time "gradually starts to feel like something is off as they progress". The setting in the game looks like Aincrad, but it's actually not; rather it's a world where everything is adjoined by connecting lands and not divided into layers.
"You’ll fight and raid using a skill palette, and there are a number of management elements where you can direct your party members and such," said Hirayae. "One of the main features of the system is how these action and management elements coexist.
"Unlike Hollow Fragment, this time, you can take along up to three people. For example, one person could raise the toss, the second person could use a sword skill, the third person could restrain the enemy, and finally Kirito can deliver the finishing blow."
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization releases on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan next year.
