In an interview GameSpot, the lead multiplayer designer of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Robert Cogburn, confirmed that microtransactions will be a part of the game’s multiplayer when it launches.
When asked specifically about microtransactions he said that “microtransactions will be available at launch, but we'll have no gameplay items that will be gated through microtransactions". Reassuringly he also confirmed that all of the items bought through microtransactions can also be earned by spending in-game currency.
A multiplayer beta for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be available this December; the game will launch in full in the spring of 2016.
