Yacht Club Games has announced that the Shovel Knight Amiibo figure will release in Europe on December 11th and in North America on January 8th, 2016.
If you use the Amiibo figure on the Nintendo 3DS or Wii U on the level map screen then you'll unlock a custom knight with extra customization options. You can also use the figure on the Wii U to join a friend in co-op.
Challenge Mode also gets new content when the Amiibo is scanned, including exclusive stages that take advantage of the custom knight's abilities. There are 10 new challenges in total - five solo and five co-op.
The Shovel Knight Amiibo is priced at $12.99/£10.99/€14,99.
