Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U has been available for well over a year and the game has seen more than its fair share of downloadable content releases.
However, game director Masahiro Sakurai has revealed in a Fire Emblem 25th anniversary interview that new DLC for the game will soon be coming to an end.
Sakurai noted that he is interested in making a new original game, however he isn't sure if the development team could handle a new Super Smash Bros. game without him.
"It’s pretty difficult," he said. "If I keep making Smash, I get to work on interesting things like Ryu, but if I leave, I don’t know if the staff could do it by themselves."
