Many gamers know of thatgamecompany for their games flOw, Flower and, of course, Journey. We here at gamrReview loved Journey so much that we named it our Game of the Year for 2012. Beyond the gameplay one of the greatest parts of the game was the stand-out soundtrack, which was the first video game score to be nominated for a Grammy.
In an interview with Destructoid the soundtrack's composer, Austin Wintory, revealed that for most of his career he composed using a $50 Casio 44-key keyboard. Journey was one such work that was composed on this toy keyboard. While the final work is obviously performed by live musicians, it’s interesting to read that a Grammy-nominated composer would rather use a cheap keyboard he's familiar with instead of the top of the line one.
