In a recent blog post on their website RSI, the developers behind Star Citizen have revealed that it has now reached over $42million in crowd funding:
"$42 million in crowd funding! I can’t think of a better symbolic victory than reaching that number in crowd funding. The ‘meaning of life, the universe and everything’ is now the amount pledged to let us build a new universe!"
The game looks set to become a big hit, with fans screaming in delight upon seeing the initial gameplay demo at PAX east last week.
The $42 million funding goal also means the unlocking of a lot of additional content, with new ship designs being worked on, as well as the scope of the Galactapedia set to be expanded.
