Deep Silver, the publisher behind the Dead Island series, has today announced that it will be publishing yet another Dead island game called Escape Dead Island.
Escape Dead Island will be developed by FatShark, the company behind the recently-released War of the Vikings, and will centre around a stealthier set of gameplay mechanics, rather than the hack and slash combat of previous games. The game is a prequel to Dead Island 2, and will be set 4 weeks after the original Dead Island, bridging the gap in narratives between the two.
Escape Dead Island is also set to contain psychedelic experiences that will cause the player to question whether a set of events happened or not.
With a cell-shaded aesthetic, Escape Dead Island certainly looks fresh compared to its franchise brethren, and will release this fall on PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360 this fall for $39.99.
