Youkai Watch, the Pokemon-esque RPG from Level-5 has become a huge hit in Japan. Youkai Watch 2 on the 3DS has already passed 2 million copies sold, and its anime has shown no signs of losing popularity with children. Sadly, so far we have seen nothing of Youkai Watch in the west, but it seems that things are about to change. The president of Level-5 has said that Youkai Watch is set to come to the west in 2015.
Alongside the game Level-5 will also be bringing over the toys based on the series. It’s unknown exactly how the games will be brought over (both on the publisher and retail/digital front), and if it's just the first game that is set to be localised or not. Whatever the case may be, it’s good to see that, along with Fantasy Life, Level-5’s currently non-localized 3DS franchises are finally coming to western audiences.
