Solaire is strongly believed to be the firstborn of Gwyn, Lord of Cinders. Evidence for this is in Solaire's dialogue when he refers to the sun as being "a wondrous body like a magnificent father" and is searching for his "very own Sun." Additionally, the Ring of the Suns Firstborn states that the first born became a god, but his powers and status taken away from him.
Another piece of evidence is the Sunlight Medals description:
- "The symbol represents Lord Gwyn's firstborn, who lost his deity stats and was expunged from the annals. But the old God of War still watches closely over his warriors."
